Londen, The Wallace Collection, Ranjit Singh, Bishan Singh, The Golden Temple and the city beyond, Amritsar, Punjab, about 1870.

Londen, The Wallace Collection, Ranjit Singh, Unknown East India Company clerk, ‘True copy’, Receipt marking the formal transfer of the Koh-i-Noor diamond from the Sikhs to the British, Gosainganj, Lucknow, 1851, ink on paper.

hieronder nog even zien:

DSC00664TheWallaceCollectionRanjitSinghUnknownEastIndiaCompanyClerkTrueCopyGosainganjLucknow1851InkOnPaper 03 Dalhousie

DSC00664TheWallaceCollectionRanjitSinghUnknownEastIndiaCompanyClerkTrueCopyGosainganjLucknow1851InkOnPaper 02 TrueCopy

Het gaat om een copie naar waarheid. ‘Betrouwbaar dus’, wil de schriver zeggen.

DSC00664TheWallaceCollectionRanjitSinghUnknownEastIndiaCompanyClerkTrueCopyGosainganjLucknow1851InkOnPaper 04 Ko-i-Noor

Londen, The Wallace Collection, Ranjit Singh, Unknown Armourer, Cuirass bearing a portrait of Guru Nanak, Punjab, late 18th or early 19th century, watered steel, iron, gold, brass and velvet.

Ranjit Singh: Sikh, Warrior, King
