The Band: ‘The Last Waltz’
Hele bijzondere combinatie van muzikanten (Neil Yong en Neil Diamand ?) leidt tot prachtige muziek en een film die je gezien moet hebben !
Een groep restaurants in Breda hebben een erg leuke actie bedacht om da aandacht te vestigen op hun goede keuken: Proeven van Kunst.
Lokale kunstenaars hebben een kunstwerk gemaakt dat vervolgens op een onderbord is aangebracht.
Gaat u een keer het speciale menu ‘Proeven van Kunst’ eten, neemt u na afloop het onderbord mee naar huis.
De actie loopt van mei tot en met december 2005.
Er zijn Meet & Greet-avonden waar de kunstenaar aanwezig is.
Er zal een onderborden ruilavond komen.
Er is een speciaal culinair VVV-arrangement.

10.2 The changes made to ecosystems have contributed to substantial gains in human well-being and economic development, but these gains have been achieved at growing costs. These costs include the degradation of many ecosystem services, increased risks of abrupt changes, and increased poverty for some groups of people. These problems, unless addressed, will substantially reduce the benefits that future generations get from ecosystems.
10.3 This degradation of ecosystem services could get significantly worse during the next 50 years. It is a barrier to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
10.4 Reversing the degradation of ecosystems while meeting increasing demands for their services is a challenge. This challenge can be partially met in the future under scenarios involving significant changes to policies, institutions, and practices. However, these required actions will have to be substantial when compared to the actions currently taken.

Niet heel bekend bij veel mensen maar hij is een van de sterren op de opname van Van Morrison: A night in San Francisco. Een legendarisch album van ‘the Man’. Na beluistering van deze opname worden een heleboel zaken van ‘the Man’ op deze CD duidelijk. De CD is een eerbetoon.

Al een paar dagen begin ik steeds weer opnieuw aan het luisteren van deze fantastische CD.Het kwam er steeds niet van hem volledig af te luisteren. Vandaag gaat dat zeker lukken:Stevie Wonder: ‘Songs in the key of life’Zeker nu er weer nieuwe muziek van hem is: What the fuzz ?Voor het eerst in 10 jaar weer een heldere, echte Stevie Wonder-plaat.Zijn muziek is altijd herkenbaar, ogenschijnlijk simpel en prachtig.Moeiteloos snijdt hij actuele thema’s aan (‘Village ghetto land’)of maakt een ode aan Duke Ellington (‘Sir Duke’).Luister eens naar ‘Isn’t she lovely’, ‘Joy inside my tears’.Luister eens naar zijn geschiedenisles: ‘Black man’.Toen deze muziek eerst als plaat uitkwam (je weet nog wel zo’n grote zwarte schijf)was het een dubbel elpee met een single.Nooit eerder vertoond (en daarna ook niet meer gezien).Wat een muziek ! Die harmonica ! Als ik op vakantie ga, zeker op langere reizen, houd ik een dagboekje bij.Dat kan nu natuurlijk ook met een weblog.Maar de volgende web site is ook een goed idee.Het combineert een kaart met het plaatsen van teksten en foto’s.Ik ben wel benieuwd wat de response tijd is voor dit soort zaken.Tot nu toe waren mijn ervaringen (Turkije en India) niet echt erg positief.Foto’s kunnen een extra probleem veroorzaken.De web site kan prive of publiek zijn.Het is mogelijk een HTML download te maken. Dee Dee Bridgewater: ‘Cole Porter in concert’, ‘Dear Ella’, ‘Live at Yoshi’s’Een van de erg mooie jazz`vocalisten van deze tijd.Niet alleen technisch mooi maar ook iemand met een verhaal.Luister eens naar haar imitatie van een trombone op ‘Stairway to the stars’ op het album ‘Dee Dee Bridgewater live at Yoshi’s’.Deze Cd heeft trouwens meer voorbeelden van haar vermogen te scatten.
